Cadet/Juvenile Nationals Results

Five wrestlers travelled to BC over the weekend and competed in the Cadet Juvenile Nationals!

After committing to two practices per day for the past 5 weeks, everyone showed much improvement since the beginning of the year.

Danny Stomphorst 57kg Cadet, placed 5th with a record of 5-2. Danny defeated Ranjot Sandhan from BC to place 5th.  Danny put together the best tournament of his career by winning 5 matches!  Danny lost in close matches to only the SILVER medallist Karan Dhillon from BC and the BRONZE medallist Isaac Bernard from BC.

Reed Nicholson 48kg Cadet, Reed gave the eventual champion and Cadet Male Wrestler of the Tournament Amrit Sund from BC one his toughest matches of the day after scoring a 3 point takedown in the first round.

Also in the tough 48kg Cadet division.  Arie Moldvan; despite wrestling with an improved style lost to the bronze medallist Cedrick Bihis from the Khalsa WC  and the 4th place finisher Amed Shamiya from Ontario.

James Ponton 51kg Juvenile, lost to the bronze medallist Wade Leaman from Ontario.

Luke Campbell 51kg Cadet, won the BRONZE medal winning 4 matches and showing much improvement!  Luke had the tournament of his young career losing only in the semi finals to the GOLD medallist and Ontario Champion Marcus Chan from Team Impact.
